Eid arrangements finalised for srinagar

Srinagar, November 26:To finalize arrangements for Eid-ul-Azha and Urs Amir Kabir (RA), a meeting of district officers was held here under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner, Srinagar,  Mehraj Ahmad Kakroo.

It was given out in the meeting that besides providing clean supply of drinking water, optimal supply of electricity, the administration will also ensure sanitation and hygienic for its citizens. Also to minimize the traffic jams and interruptions caused in Lal Chowk and other busy centres of the city, the District Development Commissioner directed Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution to look for alternate places where sacrificial sheep could be bought and sold.

It was also revealed in the meeting that enough transportation facilities are being made available in Hazratbal, Khanyar, Jamia Masjid, Eidgah, Janab Sahib Soura for the convenience of people while going to offer Eid prayers.

Later, the District Development Commissioner accompanied by various offices visited Khankhi Moula today where he reviewed arrangements made by Auqaf for the Urs to be observed on December 5, 2008. He stressed upon the officers to ensure sufficient supply of drinking water, uninterrupted electricity and first aid for the convenience of devotees.
