TRC ground to be fully developed for sports development

Etalaat News Service Srinagar, August 02:Secretary State Sports Council has stated that despite best efforts made to maintain and develop the Tourist Reception Centre ground as a play field, yet it often gets damaged due to holding of rallies and non-sports activities. He stated that this year the Sports Council, despite pressure, has not allowed using the ground for non-sports activity. He said that some agencies have dumped unnecessary waste material in the field few months back, which has made some portion unplayable. The Sports Council has developed it partly besides renovating hut during the recently concluded Santosh Trophy Football Tournament. The complete development of the field is being taken-up by the J&K State Sports Council for which estimates are under formulation. It is expected that development works will be taken up shortly and the field made fit for sports.
