Malangam left volleyball championship organized

Etalaat News Service Bandipora, July 31: An inter village volleyball championship was organized by 15 Rashtriya Rilfes (14 Gorkha Rifles) at remote village Malangam Bandipora in which ten teams from different villages of Bandipora participated. In the final match of the championship played between Malangam and Kinhus today, Malangam thrashed Kinhus in an impressive and thrilling match when Game 3 also went in favour of Malangam after decisive fight by Kinhus by scoring 20-19 of last 20 points. The championship was organized under Operation Sadbhavan XI and teams form Ashtingoo, Kinhusa, Kaitson, Aloosa, Malangam, Qauilmuqam, Kulus, Muqam, Watpora and Qazipora villages participated. Sports lovers and locals enjoyed the match by supporting and cheering the players for both the teams. Capitan of Malangam winners of championship Arif Hussain Mir said, "It was good win for us as our team has been the champion from the very inception of the championship. We want more and more volley tournaments to be organized in future." Commanding officer 5 Sector R.R Brigrader JS Sandhu while felicitating the winner and runners said that there is no dearth of talent in frontier areas and the talent is here exceptional one but the need was to polish their capabilities to enable them to compete at national and international level. Adding he said that providing such kind of sports activities would not only encourage the participation of the youth in sports activities but also help in boosting the sports in the valley. He said that the sports activities are very vital in development of the overall personality of youth, and by encouraging such events would go long way in polishing the talent of youth in general and rural in particular. Adding he said, "We are going to organize more sports events in future to help the sports lover's youth in the remote villages."
