Sir Syed CC, Friends CC emerge winner

Srinagar, July 18: In the ongoing Mirza Norr-ud-Din Memorial Invitational Cricket Tournament Sir Syed CC Saderbal defeated Mars CC Sonwar at the loss of seven wickets while as Friends CC Nishat crushed Nowshehra CC by five runs here at Kashmir University playing grounds on Friday.
Winning the toss Mars elected to bat first. In their allotted 30 overs they were bundled out at 106 runs in just 27 overs. Tanvir was the highest scorer for Mars. He scored 27 runs while as Asif and Shabir took three wickets each for Sir Syed. Sir Syed achieved the target in 28 overs at the loss of seven wickets. Asif of Sir Syed bagged the man of the match award for taking three wickets and scoring useful 32 runs.
In the second match Friends Club who decided to bat first after winning the toss put a target of 199 runs in 30 overs with six of their batsmen sent back to pavilion. Younis scored 70 runs while as Bashir scored 62 runs for Friends Culb. CC Syed took three wickets for Nowshehra. Chasing a target of 200 runs, Nowshehra fell short by five runs. Despite a brilliant 84 runs coming from Azher’s bat Nowshehra was unable to get home with the victory. Younis for his impressive 70 runs was adjudged with man of the man of the match award.
On 19th, ICC Bemina  will lock horns with SKC Club Qamarwari while as PCC Pattan will clash with Arshad CC Qamarwari on the second ground at University.
