Election date for Bar Association announced

Srinagar, July 22:Schedule for holding elections to form the new Kashmir High Court Bar Association was announced on Tuesday.
According to the notification released, elections for new office bearers including president, vice president, general secretary, treasurer and joint secretary will be held on August 5.

Notification said forms for participating in the elections will be issued on 23 and 24^th of this month. The last date for the submission of forms has been fixed on 25^th  and 26^th July. Scrutiny of the forms will take place on 28^th  July and the last date of withdrawal of forms is on 29^th  of the same month.

Bar Association has constituted a committee which will supervise and conduct the whole election process. The committee comprises of advocates Ghulam Nabi Dar, Ghulam Ahmad Wani, Abdul Aziz Teli, Ashfaq Muzamil and Sajad Ahmad Mir.

The term for the present Kashmir High Court Bar Association is ending on 31th of this month.

Meanwhile bar association has constituted an enquiry committee which will probe the alleged bungling in the purchase of computers and books for the court libraries. Advocate Majid Jehangir, Advocate Abdul Aziz Teli, Advocate Ghulam Ahmad Wani and Nazir Ahmad Being will conduct the investigations in the matter.
