States start implementing pay commission report

Srinagar, August16: After the central cabinet gave approval to the implementation of sixth pay commission report that was submitted early this year, three states have also adopted to implement the report in their respective states.

His government welcomed the report of the Sixth Pay Commission approved by the Centre for upward revision of wages for government employees, he added.

The Haryana Chief Minister, Bhupinder Singh Hooda also on Friday said the 6th Pay Commission recommendations will be implemented in the state. Hooda made the announcement at the Independence Day function at Palwal.

"We will issue orders soon for the implementation of the 6th Pay Commission recommendations," he said after unfurling the national tri-colour. The government's decision would benefit over 10 lakh employees.

In Jammu and Kashmir, the ex-chief minister had said, “Once the central government approves commission report for its employees, we would also follow suit and implement it in the state as well.”

Since the state is under governor rule ,observer feel that governor may  postpone the decision about its implementation onto the newly elected government for which elections are expected to take place in November this year.
